Pure Consulting wanted to move faster in responding to new client projects
After centralising internal employee services with their custom React frontend and Starhive backend, Pure Consulting identified another slow yet high-stakes internal process: producing consultant profiles and competence profiles for new client projects.
Whenever a new engagement arises, managers must respond fast with a strong match. The quicker the response and the closer the consultant’s skills match, the higher the chance of securing the assignment. But their existing process was laborious.

To win a client project, submitted competence profiles must be tailored to the specific requirements set out by the client. Some requests even demand exact criteria, such as the number of years of experience in Javascript, which was hard to confirm. Much of each consultant’s professional history lived in scattered files from the past and in the manager’s memory.
Choosing the correct consultant and then tailoring their profile to highlight the correct mix of skills could take up to two hours of manual effort. Multiply that across a high pace of requests per month, and the impact on operational efficiency and risk to revenue from submitting profiles in time becomes clear.
Pure Consulting needed a faster process. One that was structured, automated, AI-supported, and produced excellent consultant offers that win projects. They were aware of off-the-shelf tools but knew them to be costly. They knew it would be more cost-effective to expand their existing employee portal, as development is fast and they can design it for their exact needs.

Building an AI-assisted profile generation system on top of Starhiv
The solution is a two-part system that captures consultant experience and automatically generates tailored profiles for managers.
1. Consultants maintain their own structured profiles
Each consultant can log into the portal, track their own skills, and register everything a manager might need, including:
- A personal introduction and profile photo
- Skills and granular experience
- Certifications and education
- Previous assignments and professional history
- Languages spoken
Consultants enter details manually or upload an existing profile. AI then parses the document into the required fields, ready for review and editing.
Consultants can create their profiles using the web application.
AI also extracts skill tags from past roles and suggests additional skills consultants may want to add. For each skill tag added, the system calculates the experience duration by examining the dates of previous roles where that skill was utilised.
Once submitted in the web app, everything gets stored in the Starhive backend, ready to be extracted when a profile needs to be generated.
2. Managers generate tailored profiles in minutes
When a new project arrives, a manager can quickly select a consultant or team with relevant skills. Their structured profile is then pulled from Starhive into the profile builder.
From there, the manager can:
- Show or hide certifications, skills, or past roles
- Highlight specific experiences required by the client
- Adjust descriptions for greater relevance
- Ensure the consultant meets strict criteria, such as minimum years of experience in a given skill

Managers can create new versions of a consultant's CV for a specific positions with different information. Each version is saved in the Starhive backend.
After customisation, the system automatically assembles a complete profile and can export it to both Word and PDF. Formatting, structure, and layout are handled for them, creating consistency across every consultant's CV.

What’s next for Pure Consulting?
Pure Consulting plans to further expand the system with a new automated matching service: when a new client opportunity arrives, the system will analyse the requirements, compare them with consultant data in Starhive, and recommend the best-fit consultants.
This will tighten response times even more and help Pure Consulting scale their operations without adding administrative overhead.
