What is Unified Data Management?

Unified Data Management is the process of getting all your important data into one place so it is easier to access, combine with related data, and analyse to make sound business decisions. It’s an audacious goal, but when tackled bit by bit, with a solid UDM platform, it transforms how companies work with their data.

How is UDM different to master data management?

Master data management usually refers to certain domains of business-critical data such as customers, products, or employees. It tends to ignore transactional data or less mission-critical data such as asset data, but this is still useful for employees within a business. UDM encompasses MDM data and all other useful data.

What data can I store in Starhive?

Literally anything you like. We call data ‘objects’ in Starhive. You can think of objects as the individual rows of a traditional database. You decide what to call your objects and what attributes (the columns) it should have. Or you can use our AI assistant to give you a starting point. Objects can be laptops, product purchase records, approval requests, project tasks, contracts, or pianos. It’s completely up to you. Relationships can be built between any object.
