What is the Channels extension?

The Starhive Channels extension lets you configure a CSV data feed of your chosen Starhive data. Make your data accessible to other software tools or the external parties you collaborate with. 

Built primarily for Product Information Management (PIM) to share a huge amount of product data with hundreds of sales channels, the Channels extension lets you connect Starhive to syndication tools like Channable and ChannelEngine.

The Channels extension can also be used whenever you simply want data to be made available and updated regularly.

What is a data feed?

A data feed is a way for people to send data to another destination. If the source data updates, this change is reflected in the data feed. They are often used to send data to websites, other software tools, or partner companies. 

A common use of data feeds is in e-commerce where product details are shared with sales channels via a data feed (or product feed). The data feeds send all the latest product information and specifications to channels like Amazon or Google Shopping. 

What format is the data shared in?

Starhive shares the data in CSV format. If you are interested in XML or JSON, please contact us to let us know.

What tools does the Channels extension let you connect Starhive with?

The number of tools is endless, as long as the software allows data import via feeds and can handle authorisation. We built the Channels extension for the software tool Channable but the possibilities are quite endless.
