Can I try Starhive before I purchase a license?
Yes, you can. You can use a limited version of Starhive for free before you decide to upgrade to a paid plan. The free plan is aimed primarily at customers trying out Starhive, but individuals and small teams can also run the free version without time limitations.
Can I ask for adjusted usage limits for my free license?
Unfortunately not as we do not have the capacity to manage individual adjustments of limits for the free plan. You can upgrade to a paid plan anytime to increase your Starhive usage.

How much does Starhive cost?
Our subscription plans and pricing are detailed on our pricing page.
Do you offer any discounts?
Up to 5 users can use Starhive for free. We also offer a free community plan for non-profits and open-source projects. Academic institutions get a 50% discount.

Ordering
How do I purchase Starhive licenses?
Licenses for Starhive are sold as monthly subscriptions. To get started, sign up to create your workspace. Navigate to Workspace Settings > Billing > Billing Details to renew automatically each month. Follow the on-screen instructions to add credit card details.
Please ensure your address is correct before placing an order, as it affects your tax. Read more under the Tax section in this FAQ.
Payments and refunds
Which payment methods are accepted?
At this point, we only accept credit card payments for Standard licenses.
Payment for Enterprise licenses can be made via bank transfers. Reach out to our sales team for assistance.
Credit card — (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, and China UnionPay) via our secure order form.
Bank transfer — It can take up to 7-14 business days for bank transfers to clear through our banking facilities. You can email your remittance advice to remittance@starhive.com
Taxes
How is Starhive applying taxes?
IMPORTANT
Starhive collects your IP address to associate a country with your customer profile upon Stripe account creation for tax reasons. You can change your address details at any time after account creation, so make sure that your country is set correctly before placing an order. The country will be the basis for tax calculation.
Starhive is selling B2B licenses from Sweden, which results in the following tax routine:
Buying from Sweden: 25% VAT (moms) is added to your invoice.
Buying from a country in the European Union (except Sweden): Applicable local VAT is added to your invoice if you do not supply your company's VAT number when subscribing to our services.
Buying from a country outside the European Union: No VAT is added to your invoice
Managing users and roles
How do I add a new user?
If you are a workspace owner or workspace admin, follow the steps below.
To add a user:
- Go to Workspace settings
- Click on the Users tab to invite your teammates. Please note that even if the invitee does not accept the invitation, they will become a billable user.
- Enter your teammate´s email address and select the assigned role. Click on Send invite.
It will soon be possible to import a list of users to invite them in bulk.
How do I remove a user?
If you are a workspace owner or workspace admin, follow the steps below.
To remove a user:
- Go to Workspace settings
- Click on the Users tab to see the list of users.
- Click on the three dots on the user row and select Remove.
How are users counted towards billing?
Users are counted towards billing once product access is granted. Invited users who have not yet accepted the invitation are also counted towards billing.
To withdraw an invitation, you need to remove the user by following the steps above.
How many users do we have?
If you are a workspace owner or workspace admin, follow the steps below.
- Go to Workspace settings
- Click on the Users tab and set the filter to Everyone.
- Review the statistic that says something like Showing 50 of 290, which indicates the displayed number of users on the page and the total number of users in your workspace.
